I just find the generic central mark very much hides most of the subject of this work (and detracts from it imo) and wondered if you have considered a custom mark that is a little less obtrusive but serves the purpose as a watermark?
I don't think it detracts that much and DA doesn't give you the option to add your own watermark and to be useful it needs to be across the important bits of the image. I work hard and I'd be gutted if someone else just stole my image and made money from it and there are far more of these scoundrels than you might think. It's frustrating, so I am sticking with the watermark. It might seem flattering to you if you are just doing it for the fun of it but this is my job it needs to pay bills.
I watermark all of my photographs with my own watermark that is not so obvious, difficult to locate (not impossible, just difficult), but I do not do it (photography) for an income and I might share your sentiments if I did.
